Binance.US reportedly seeks up to $100M at a $1B valuation, far below its 2022 mark

Bloomberg says Binance.US is raising up to $100 million at about a $1 billion valuation to win back US market share — versus a $4.5 billion pre-money valuation in 2022.

Binance.US is looking to raise as much as $100 million in a funding round that would value the exchange at about $1 billion, Bloomberg reported on Thursday, as cited by Cointelegraph.

The numbers

  • Target: up to $100 million in private investment.
  • Valuation: around $1 billion — well below the $4.5 billion pre-money valuation Binance.US secured in 2022, when it raised $200 million in seed funding.
  • Purpose: according to the report, the money would help the exchange expand and claw back market share from bigger US rivals.

Binance.US reportedly told World Liberty Financial, the crypto venture co-founded by US President Donald Trump and his sons, about the round, but WLF will not take part. Binance was previously drawn into a controversial $2 billion deal in which an entity linked to Abu Dhabi's royal family invested using World Liberty's USD1 stablecoin.

Why the valuation fell

Binance.US is the American arm of the Binance brand, run as a separate company. Its fortunes slid after the 2023 settlement between Binance Holdings and US authorities, in which the parent agreed to pay $4.3 billion in penalties and accept extra monitoring. Then-CEO Changpeng Zhao pleaded guilty to a felony charge, served a four-month prison sentence and was pardoned by Trump in 2025.

What to watch

A fresh round would test whether investors believe Binance.US can regain ground in a US market that has become friendlier to crypto exchanges over the past year. Terms could still change before any deal closes.
