Investors pulled roughly $262 million from U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs on Wednesday, 14 October, as BTC slid below $82,000 after a hotter-than-expected inflation report. The move erased Tuesday’s $176 million of inflows, according to SoSoValue data cited by Cointelegraph.

The numbers

Wednesday’s withdrawals pushed bitcoin funds to $151 million of net outflows for the week so far. Last week they lost $681 million. Bitcoin was trading near $80,741 at the time of Cointelegraph’s report, down 3.2% over 24 hours on CoinGecko data.

Beyond bitcoin

  • Ether ETFs shed about $130 million on Wednesday, taking weekly outflows to $190 million. They lost $542 million last week and $138 million the week before.
  • Solana ETFs posted a small $1.3 million outflow, their eighth straight losing session.
  • Zcash ETFs added $3.7 million on the day but remain slightly negative for the week.
  • XRP ETFs attracted around $740,000 and are the only group of the five tracked with net inflows this week.

Context

Tuesday’s inflow (which we covered here) briefly suggested buyers were returning, but Wednesday’s CPI print revived talk of tighter Fed policy and risk appetite faded. ETF flows are one of the clearest daily gauges of institutional demand, though one or two sessions rarely set a trend.
