U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs swung back to net buying on 13 October, taking in about $175.6 million, while spot ether ETFs added $24.8 million, according to CryptoBriefing's readout of Alpha Finance and The Block data.

Who led the day

  • Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) brought in $103.1 million — the largest single-fund haul of the session.
  • Lookonchain, citing Farside Investors, put BlackRock's IBIT at roughly $65.9 million for the same day.
  • On the ether side, the Grayscale Ethereum Staking Mini Trust accounted for about $16.7 million, or roughly two-thirds of ether ETF inflows.

Context after a rough October start

Earlier in the month the bitcoin complex bled cash: about $487 million left on 7 October and another $244 million on 8 October. Wednesday's print does not erase that stretch, but it does mark a clear pause in redemptions.

Zooming out to the 30 days ending 13 October, the two asset classes still look different. Bitcoin ETFs attracted roughly $2.06 billion in net inflows; ether funds recorded a net outflow of about $192 million.

Scale of the products

CryptoBriefing reports spot bitcoin ETFs now hold around $100.75 billion in net assets versus about $14.48 billion for ether ETFs. Cumulative net inflows since bitcoin ETF launch on 11 January 2024 stand near $57.68 billion; ether ETFs show about $13.16 billion. Relative to market caps, that is roughly 6% of bitcoin and 4.7% of ether.

Flows remain one of the cleanest public gauges of institutional appetite — useful context ahead of today's U.S. inflation print, but not a forecast of price.
