BlackRock’s crypto funds had a much stronger third quarter than the first half of 2026, but they are still well below last year’s peak. The asset manager’s earnings report, covered by CoinDesk, put digital assets under management at $79.6 billion at the end of September — a 63% jump from $48.8 billion at the end of June.
Flows versus price
Investors put $7.9 billion into BlackRock’s digital-asset products in Q3, more than offsetting roughly $2.2 billion withdrawn in the first six months of the year. That turnaround coincided with a rebound in crypto prices after a weak first half.
Of the $30.8 billion increase in AUM during the quarter, $22.9 billion came from market gains and $7.9 billion from net new money. Over the past 12 months, the firm still attracted $6.3 billion in net inflows, but market declines erased about $30.6 billion of value — leaving holdings 23% below nearly $104 billion a year ago.
Fees and what was not broken out
BlackRock earned $39 million in quarterly fees and securities-lending revenue from its digital-asset products. The release did not break out separate AUM or flow figures for the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT).
The numbers underline how closely the firm’s crypto business tracks the price of the assets its funds hold, even when investors keep adding capital. Price levels on this page are a build-time snapshot, not a live quote.
