Ripple and wallet-infrastructure company Privy, which is owned by Stripe, have added XRP Ledger (XRPL) support to Privy's developer platform.
What developers get
- Embedded XRPL wallets that live inside an app, so users don't need to install or connect a separate crypto wallet.
- Tools to create and manage wallets and sign transactions.
- Support for XRP, Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin and other assets issued on XRPL.
- App-managed wallets that AI agents can use to hold funds and pay for things, including support for x402 payments, a standard for software paying for online services.
Users can still export their private keys and seed phrases if they want to move to another wallet, Privy says.
What they said
"Stablecoins are changing how money moves, and XRPL has been building for payments from the start," said Henri Stern, Privy's co-founder and CEO and Stripe's head of crypto and stablecoins.
Markus Infanger, senior vice president of RippleX, said Privy's infrastructure makes it easier for fintechs to bring XRPL into real products, "from payments and stablecoin experiences to emerging forms of agentic commerce."
What's next
Privy plans to add policy controls and gas sponsorship, letting developers set rules for transactions and cover network fees on behalf of their users. Stripe bought Privy last year but runs it separately as it expands its stablecoin business.
